The power of 28 days.

Friends, we all know now the answer to the question of how can we change our own non-conscious beliefs, right? We all know as well that it is not easy to do that, because it takes time to create new positive belief. It is perhaps a constant struggle and practice to be able to perfect this philosophy. Even the Holy Bible had already taught us about faith and beliefs, right? But still we struggle to reach our dreams and then quit. What’s missing in there, we already did the things we thought it was right to reach our dreams but in the end nothing happens. The truth is people are expecting an instant result that is why we easily quit when adversity came. The easiest way is to quit, right? So, you may ask me how long to try and wait, I had been trying not just once, twice but three times but still nothing happen. I am already tired of trying and waiting.

What should I do? You might ask. Or how long does it takes to create a new habit, a habit of thought and a habit of actions. That’s a good and legal question. My dear friends let me retold this news given by Bro. Bo Sanchez..

Years ago, NASA designed a fascinating experiment. They outfitted their astronauts with goggles that flipped their field of vision 180 degrees — so that they saw the world upside down. They asked the astronauts to wear these goggles 24 hours a day. Obviously, they experienced a lot of stress. But something happened on the 26th day. One of the astronauts began to see his world right side up. He now had normal vision. He still was wearing his goggles but his mind was able to adjust to the strange information. Enough neural connections were created in his mind that his visual perception saw everything upside down. Soon, all the astronauts experienced the same thing around the 28th day. This experiment showed that to change your pattern of thoughts, you need 26 to 30 days of bombarding yourself with the new pattern.

After I learned this news I was shocked. I now understand that creating a new belief is indeed achievable, it only needs at least 28 days of constant 24 hours of telling your brain to believe that new belief. We can never reach our dreams unless we believe we can. This is the main reason why we still don’t get our dreams after trying to reach for three times or more. It’s our subconscious mind that is not convinced by our thoughts and action that is why nothing happens. We have to absolutely believe that we can reach our dreams, otherwise it won’t come. So, in trying to reach our dreams we have to remember the power of 28.

The story of Sylvester Stallone, Colonel Sanders of KFC, Henry Ford and Thomas Edison is a perfect example of reaching our dreams. They are all my inspiration. They never give up; they never stop trying until they had reached their dreams.

Two Parts of our brain.

Before we discuss why beliefs are more powerful than our decisions. We have to discuss first, the two parts of our brain or mind. Bro. Bo explains in this book that there two parts of our brain or mind, first is the conscious mind and the other is the subconscious mind.

Bro. Bo Sanchez explains that our brain have 100 billion neurons capable of running 10 quadrillion operations per second. In one second it can run and manage 10 quadrillion operations. Can you imagine that? (Sorry for that very technical word, I don’t even understand that.) Let us simplify that, if we combine all the computing power of all computers of the world together, they still won’t be able to do what our brain can do. Picture this: put all the telephone network of the entire world together and it will not even compare to the complexity of one neuron in our brain. That’s how powerful our brain is.

Let me talk about our conscious mind. Do you know that our conscious mind is limited it can not even memorize 18 digits of numbers given in a few seconds. Let me give you an example, memorize this number 639204056681102777. You can’t memorize it, right? But I can, because that is my phone number and my birth date. Now let me copy again the example used by Bro. Bo to describe how powerful our unconscious mind is. There are 10 million cells in our body die every second and 10 million cells are created every second. Guess who supervises all that? It’s our unconscious mind. Our unconscious mind memorizes not 18 numbers but ten million numbers per second. Not only that, it memorizes that forever, it never forgets and it runs automatic. Can you imagine that? That’s how powerful our unconscious mind is. If only we can harness the power of our unconscious mind then we can achieve almost anything. And this is our challenge. This is the kind of gift that God had given us.

This all explains why beliefs are a thousand times more powerful than our decisions and desires, because beliefs are in our unconscious mind. The moment we start to develop a habit of thoughts it will be filed or stock up in our unconscious mind and it will stock there forever. Not unless we will remove or change that belief for whatever reasons we may have. The challenge that we need to address is how to harness the power of our belief and perception.

Here’s the truth: Our Control of perception is this, our conscious mind controls 2-4 percent of our perception and behavior while our unconscious mind controls 96-98 percent of our perception and behavior and it runs automatically.  Let me give you a very simple example given by Bro. Bo Sanchez, A loving person doesn’t have a hard time being loving. It’s automatic: He has loving habits. A holy person doesn’t have a hard time being holy. It’s automatic: He has holy habits. So a rich person doesn’t have a hard time being rich. It’s automatic: He gets richer and richer every day because he has wealth habits. So here’s the big question: How do we gain wealthy habits? How can we make wealth automatic?

By the way how our beliefs are being develop? It all starts from our childhood. How many times we have heard from our parents, siblings and friends this statement from our childhood “You can’t do that”. You can’t do that because you’re too young, you can’t do that because you’re not good enough and many other reason why you can’t do that. After hearing this so many times maybe a thousand times, it will become a habit of thought. It will become a belief. So whenever there’s a dream in front of us, even if our conscious mind will say we can do it but our unconscious mind will say we can’t do that. What do you think will happen, it will lead us to inaction because of our fear of failure, doubts and disbelief. Why was that? Again, it’s because our subconscious mind is a thousand times more powerful than our conscious mind. That is why parent have a big, huge major role in molding the faith of their children. In other words parents have a huge influence in their children’s future. “As a parent I’ve learned that my most important role isn’t to correct my children’s every mistake. One of my most important roles is to believe that they can achieve any dream that God has placed in their hearts.”

Going back to the big question on how do we gain wealthy habits? How can we make wealth automatic?
Or how can we change our own non-conscious beliefs? The answer to this nagging question is we have to create new positive beliefs. We will change and forget our old negative beliefs. Instead of saying I can’t do that, that is very difficult, that’s impossible, I am weak, I am not that good, I am not intelligent, and all those negative thoughts that you can think of. We will replace that thought by this Yes! With God everything is possible. Yes! I can do that. Yes! That’s difficult but I can try. I am a son of God so I am strong. I am good. I am intelligent. Now! You got it right? Yes! It may sound too bragging or too proud, but that’s the secret we have to believe first that we can. We have to do this in our mind first and there are so many ways to say this in a humble way. We have to think of this everyday or every single minute and we will never stop until our subconscious mind will believe and replace those old negative beliefs. I know this is not easy. I know for the first time it may sound crazy but who cares in the first place nobody knows we are thinking of this every single minute. Nobody knows that we are now slowly changing our old negative habit of thoughts and habit of action. By the time we actually believed this new beliefs we will witness the abundance and blessing of God. We will have a new look, a new perception of things, a new perspective, a new aura, a new life full of positive energy and a new experience of God’s presence every single minute.

My dear friends, I hope we understand now the two parts of our brain and how it works. May this knowledge or information help us to reach our dreams. Until then, Godbless us all.

Decisions vs. Belief

Success is a state of mind.
If you want success, start thinking of yourself as a success.
Dr. Joyce Brothers

“I tell you the truth, if anyone says to this mountain,
‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart
but believes that what he says will happen,
it will be done for him.”
Mark 11:23

Decisions vs. Belief

Obstacles are those frightful things you see
when you take your eyes off your goal.
Henry Ford

Friends, how I wish I can just copy and paste the exact words and explanation made by Bro. Bo Sanchez in this wonderful topic as he explain in his book “choose to be wealth”. But allow me to share to you my humble understanding of this which made me realize the huge difference between decisions and belief and the influence it does to our goal in attaining our dreams. The way I understand it is that decisions are those thoughts that we decide to do consciously. While belief is those thoughts we don’t need to decide because it’s already there in our subconscious mind that we already believe it’s true through experience or senses. Let me re-told the example given by Bro. Bo Sanchez to explain further.

How many of you heard this line “I am going to exercise starting today” or “I am going to quit smoking starting today” and nothing really happen after that. We often heard this in New Years day, right? Do you want to know why nothing really happen after that decisions we had made? Do you really want to know why nothing happens to the decisions we made in our lives? Are you ready for this? The reason for this is that our habits are a thousand times more powerful than our desires or decisions. Let me repeat that in case we don’t get that, our habits are a thousand times more powerful than our desires or our decisions.

You know what, my dear friends after I realize that I was shocked, really. I ask myself, what are habits then? Why are habits so powerful? As I continue to read this book I learn that there are two kinds of habits. One is habits of action and the other is habits of thoughts. Habits of actions are those actions that we do regularly without thinking, like brushing our teeth everyday, taking a bath everyday and praying everyday. While habits of thoughts are no difference with the habits of action, it’s a thought we think constantly, first we think it consciously then it becomes unconsciously and not only that it is a thought that we already believe it is true. These thoughts then become our belief. These thoughts becomes our belief because we actually experience it, we witness it exist by our senses.

So, going back to our discovery that habits are a thousand times more powerful than our decisions or desires, we can then conclude that habits of actions and habits of thoughts which are beliefs are a thousand times more powerful than our decisions and desires. But take note my dear friends that before we act or do such a thing we think of it first, right? So, we can say that beliefs are a thousand times more powerful than our decisions and desires, right?

There you go my dear friends; we now know the huge difference between decisions and belief. I hope this will guide us in reaching our dreams. I am always thankful to God that I have found my mentor who can help me understand the secrets of the successful people. I am thankful I am a member of truly rich club by Bro. Bo Sanchez. Godbless us all.

My emotional why

If you have a big enough reason to get something done, there’s almost no way you can fail.
Yanik Silver

The Lord takes pleasure in the prosperity of his servant.
Psalm 35:27

My emotional why

God gives us dreams a size too big so that we can grow in them.
Author Unknown

Bro. Bo Sanchez asks this question…
Why do people fail to reach their dreams?
And then he answered, because they have not yet discovered their emotional why. He further explains what he means by telling this story…

One day I was talking to Ricky, a smoker. He said, “I’ve tried to quit smoking, but it doesn’t work. I’ve tried so many times and I’ve failed again and again. I don’t think I can quit smoking”. So I told him, “Do you have a kid?” Yes I do. I have a three-year-old girl,” I told him, “imagine this in your mind. What if someone pointed a gun on the forehead of your daughter and tells you, unless you quit smoking, I’m going to blow her brains out. Ricky, will you quit smoking? He swallowed hard. “Yes. Absolutely.”

The lesson of this story is very clear, right? If we can recognize and learn how to use that very powerful emotion and convert it as a fuel to reach our dreams, but the question is how, right? After telling this story Bro. Bo Sanchez explains the fact of life which shocked me for the first time I realize this, that we make choices or decisions based on our emotional reasons, not logical reasons. (Yes, after we made a choice or decision we then justify with logical reasons. But the initial reason is always emotional). If we want to become wealthy, we need to discover our emotional why and this emotional why is also called hunger or desire.
After, learning this topic given by my mentor I look and found my emotional why or my hunger or my desire. (Of course these are patterned from my mentor’s emotional why.) These are the reasons why I wanted to be wealthy…
I need money to support God’s work.
I need money to provide the needs of my family.
I need money to buy healthy foods to eat for my family.
I need money to send my children to good schools.
I need money for my family vacation each year.
I need money for a romantic date with my beautiful wife every week.
I need money for a quality time or bonding time with my kids each week.
I need money for a quality time for my mother, my siblings, relatives and friends.
I need enough money for emergency.
I need money to give to the poor for their needs.
And the last which is really what I feel right now is that I am already sick and tired leaving my family behind and work here in Saudi Arabia as an OFW. I want to end this suffering. I want to end this slavery (yes! that’s how I feel, Slavery). I don’t want to grow old here in Saudi Arabia. I want to be with my family. I want to spend my every minute of my life with my wife, and children. I want to be a hands-on father to my children not just a financial father. I want to guide my children every step of their way. I want to mold the faith and belief of my children towards God, and everything, including money. I want to prove to myself that I can be the person I want to be. I want to prove to myself that I can earn in the Philippines more than what I earn here in Saudi Arabia. I want to prove to all the people who say that life in the Philippines is hard; I want to prove them wrong. And above all I want to prove to everyone that With God all things are possible…So help me God.

Friends, I hope in some way I was able to deliver the message properly. But if you need more explanation you may read his book or you can join the truly rich club of Bro. Bo Sanchez. Just click that banner on the top right side of this blog or you can click this link.

Let me finished this topic by this quote from Oprah Winfrey: Turn your emotional wounds into wisdom.

My real wealth

Money is neither my god nor my devil. It is a form of energy that tends to make us more of
who we already are, whether it’s greedy or loving...Dan Millman

For I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you, and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future...Jeremiah 29:11

 My Real Wealth

Ordinary riches can be stolen; real riches cannot. In your soul are infinitely precious things
that cannot be taken from you...Oscar Wilde

Friends, my mentor Bro. Bo Sanchez has really a huge impact of my life that is why I got my definition of my real wealth from him. If you have noticed most of my words are taken from his book. Anyway, these are my real wealth…
My wealth is my relationship with God.
My wealth is my relationship with my wife.
My wealth is my relationship with my children.
My wealth is my relationship with my siblings and my mother.
My wealth is my relationship with my relatives.
My wealth is my relationship with my friends.
And my wealth is my relationship with the poor that I long to help.

They are my reason why I need to be rich. But I can't deny that money helps me in building my relationships. To be able to enhance, build up or develop my relationships I need money. Like for example,
I need money to support God’s work.
I need money for a simple thing like having a romantic date with my beautiful wife every week.
I need money for a quality time or bonding time with my kids each week.
I need money for a quality time for my mother, my siblings, relatives and friends.
And I need money to give to the poor for their needs.

Wealth mindset

A great pleasure in life is doing what people say you cannot do.
Tommy John

My biggest realization in this topic is when Bro. Bo Sanchez said that a wealth mindset is more important than financial literacy. He then explains further that even if he will teach us how to invest but if we have a poverty mindset, nothing will work. We can know everything we need to know about investments, entrepreneurship and real estate. But if we have a poverty mindset, all that we know won’t make us wealthy.
In my simple understanding with this is that even if I have all the knowledge and information on how to invest especially in real estate but then I am still afraid to start then nothing will happen to me. From that I now understand that knowledge is just a potential of power. Now, my challenge is how can I overcome my fear and how to deal with my limited belief? I know somewhere in these book I can find the answer to these question.

Financial wealth that I want

Whether you think you can or think you can’t, you are right.
Henry Ford

“You have to make a choice. This is a choice that God leaves up to you.”
These are the first phrases that Bro. Bo Sanchez said in this topic. He even compare God’s universe to a large restaurant that unless we order, we won’t get served. We can’t complain to the waiter, why hasn’t my food come, if we haven’t given our order. So what’s our order?

Option 1: Just enough.
Enough to pay the bills.
Enough to eat three meals a day.
Enough to send kids to school.

Option 2: More than enough
In this option, we are able to pay all our bills and still save for the future.
We are able to take our vacations with the family.
We are able to help others in need.
We are able to be more generous to God’s work.

Option 3: Exceedingly more than enough
This option is relative though, like a million pesos a month or more.

My realization to these three options mention by my mentor Bro. Bo Sanchez is that God’s universe will respect our choices either of this three. And my dear friends allow me to keep it to myself what I choose. You make your choice too. The truth is we are capable of earning any amount we truly want to earn. The bible says, “The Lord will make us prosperous and our land will produce rich harvest,” Psalms 85:12.

Most of us wish to be wealthy, right? A lot of people have this attitude towards becoming rich it’s even a song from our folks, “if it’s for me, it will come.” Que sera, sera whatever will be, will be… Bro. Bo Sanchez also realizes that unless we decide to become wealthy, nothing will happen. We have to be totally committed to be wealthy. This are the words that my mentor really makes me pause for a while and think over it.

Introduction: Choose to be Wealthy

I am Sick and Tired of Being Poor!

I don’t have to be poor.
I don’t have to panic every time there are bills to pay.
I don’t have to be buried under a mountain of debt.
I don’t have to worry where to get money for emergencies.
I don’t have to struggle with money anymore.
I can have financial freedom.
I can be wealthy.

These are the first phrases that really got my attention when I start to read this “Choose to be Wealthy” Book by Bo Sanchez. I change the first word though from you to I, because I want to address this to myself. To be completely honest I already am tired and sick of being poor. I am already sick and tired of leaving my family, my beautiful wife (aheem!) and my beautiful daughter (aheem again!) behind to work here in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia just to have a handsome amount of monthly salary. Yes! I am an (OFW) Overseas Filipino Worker. Some folks define this OFW as over financially worried. In some aspect of it is true, right?

Speaking of OFW, allow me to give my own definition of it. OFW for me means Over Financially Wise. How that sounds huh? Actually I was laughing when I think of this, because it sounds crazy, right? I got that idea when I start to learn and study Financial Literacy. You might ask me how I start. That is a good question and it’s a long story to tell. Anyway, I got that idea after I read Rich Dad Poor Dad book by Robert Kiyosaki sometime in May 2010. I learned that to be financially free one must first learn financial literacy and that is the foundation of these blog.

I decide to start these blog with this book Choose to be Wealthy” Book by Bo Sanchez, although this blog is all about starting to learn and studying real estate investing in the Philippines.
The first reason is, I need to define first my own definition of my real wealth.
The second reason is, I need to find my big emotional Why I need to be wealthy.
The third reason is, I need to create my new wealth belief or faith.
The fourth reason is, I need to know how to be consistently aggressive.
The fifth reason is, how I can create my own money machines
The sixth reason is, I need to control my cash.
The seventh reason is, how I can stick to my game.
The last but not the least reason is, I need to know how I can share my wealth.

Why Not Be Rich and Happy at the Same Time?
Remember the Lord your God, for it is he who gives you the power to produce wealth…
Deuteronomy 8:18

Friends, Allow me to copy the exact words used by Bro. Bo Sanchez in his introduction to these book.
I just love it to share to you the exact wordings used by my mentor because his words I believe are powerful. Here it goes…

“I’d rather be poor and happy!”
I was having coffee with my friend Dean when he blurted out these words.
“What made you say that?” I asked. Dean explained, “My uncle is so rich. He’s a mega millionaire. He’s got four wives, too. But all his kids are fighting over his properties. Their family reunions happen at the courthouse. No one is talking to each other.” “So sad,” I said. Dean nodded. “In his old age, my uncle is very sick. And very bitter. He’s paralyzed from the waist down. He’s so rich, he can ride his private jet to any part of the world. But he can’t even leave his wheelchair. Man, I don’t want to be like him. I’d rather be poor and happy than rich and miserable!”

“I totally agree with you,” I told Dean, “I wouldn’t want to be like your uncle.” I paused a bit and asked him, “But tell me, is it also possible to be rich and happy at the same time?” He shrugged, “I don’t know. I guess so.” I then told him my story. “I’m an incredibly happy person. I’ve been serving God for 30 years now. I’ve got a great marriage. I’ve got a fantastic relationship with my kids. And, well, I’m a millionaire, too.” For a moment, he looked at me. He finally asked, “Can anyone become like you? Or are you a freak of nature?” “Anyone can be a happy millionaire. But first, you have to choose to be one.”

Choose Happy Wealth Now
Friend, I have long believed that happiness is a choice. You decide if you want be happy or not. Your happiness doesn’t depend on your circumstances. Because happiness is an inner decision. But very soon, that inner decision will affect your outer circumstances. But hear me out: I believe wealth is also a choice. It’s a decision that you have to make. And it’s a decision that God leaves up to us. If you choose to be a Happy Millionaire, then the answer lies in acquiring a set of specific habits. To be exact, eight of them.

Choose to Be Wealthy
Hey, I’ve learned them from others, too. I’m merely passing the information to you. But before I did, I road-tested them first. I couldn’t hare the 8 Habits with you without field-testing them in my personal life. What happened? You’ll have to read this book. (Blackmail.) Friend, acquire these 8 Habits and change your financial life forever.

Wow! What else can I say? His introduction speaks for itself. How do you feel my dear countrymen? Let me write it here again the words that really shocked me for the first time I read this book.

I have long believed that happiness is a choice. You decide if you want be happy or not. Your happiness doesn’t depend on your circumstances. Because happiness is an inner decision, but very soon, that inner decision will affect your outer circumstances. I believe wealth is also a choice. It’s a decision that you have to make. And it’s a decision that God leaves up to us.

Let us pause for a while and reflect on these words.
So long fellows, I hope this blog will not remain just another blog out there. Let us all keep dreaming and believe in our dreams because with God all things are possible. Godbless us all.
